South Carolina One-time Payment Up To $800 Going Out To Millions
People who live in South Carolina and sent in their 2021 Individual Income Tax Return by October 17 will get their money by Christmas.
The most you can get back is $800, but how much you get will depend on how much tax you owe in 2021.
When you take your credits off of the Individual Income Tax you owed, what's left is your tax liability.
If your tax bill is less than $800, which is the most you can get back, your rebate will be the same amount as your bill.
You are eligible for a refund of $800 if your tax liability is greater than or equal to that amount.
If you filed your 2021 South Carolina Individual Income Tax return by October 17, 2022, you should have already gotten your rebate.
People who haven't turned in their tax returns yet have until February 15, 2023 to do so in order to get a rebate.
If you file your taxes between October 17, 2022 and February 15, 2023, and you are eligible for a rebate, you will get it by December 31, 2022 or March 20,2023.
The city is getting a direct payment of $500 because it used $14.68 million from the American Rescue Plan Act.
