In 2016, Russia will officially start actively searching for extra-terrestrial life. The Federal Cosmic program will also include study of the Earth’s climate evolution and different levels of possible danger from extra-terrestrial bodies.
Russian scientists will use special cosmic apparatus such as the satellite “Lomonosov” and international station “EkzoMars”.
One year after, “Spektr-RG” will join the project, and in 2018 a second version of “EkzoMars” will be launched too.
As Igor Burenkov, official representative of Roscosmos, says, if life on Earth came from the cosmos, there should be more than one civilization. This is what Russia is about to find out.
