According to research conducted by search comparison site GoEuro, British passports are the fourth most powerful passports in the world. The research ranked passports based on cost, the number of hours needed to acquire one, how long the document is valid for, and how many countries it provides visa-free entry to.
The British passport allows the holder to visit up to 174 countries, visa-free at £73.
Sweden took first prize with access to 174 countries for just £28 while Afghanistan got the least with 28 countries for £69. Furthermore Afghan passport holders must work 183 hours before they can obtain the document, whereas in Sweden only one hour of work is needed.
The USA also allows the holder to visit 174 countries for £89 but 19 hours of work is required. Turkish passports have proved to be the most valuable worth £166 while UAE passports cost just £9.
