On November the 30th, the Eastern Seasons project was launched in London. Eastern Seasons is a project dedicated to fostering greater ties between the United Kingdom and Eastern Europe. Through the European Union, the UK and many Eastern European countries also have a great political relationship and economic ties. However, political ties are not all that matter. Through the promotion of sporting endeavours, dialogue, business ties, and cultural cooperation, soft power will be the key means to deepening relations. The men’s Goodwill Tennis Tournament took place at the prestigious Queen’s Club, home of the annual Queen’s Club Championships for male tennis stars. Later, in the evening, a red carpet event and gala dinner brought a touch of glamour to the proceedings.
As media partners, BRIC Plus News joined the attendees for an evening of entertainment organised by BSI Global Group, held at Madame Tussauds in London. Among the esteemed guests were sportsman Mark Foster, Eastern Seasons ambassador for 2015, media personality Kelly Brook, reality star Mark Francis Vandelli, and Russian actress Elena Yakovleva, as well as the directors and CEOs of international corporations such as Cartier, Aeroflot, and Dorchester Collection. Sitting down for the dinner, all were united in the pursuit of raising awareness about social responsibility, health and well-being, and the desire for greater UK-Eastern European cooperation.
The gala dinner was held in support of Naked Heart Foundation, founded by model and philanthropist Natalia Vodianova. Dedicated to alleviating the adverse effects of urban poverty on Russian children, and supporting families with disabled children, Naked Heart Foundation is a vital endeavour. An action was held with the support of Sotheby’s and Julian Gascoigne, the renowned auctioneer. All proceeds went to Naked Heart Foundation, to allow them to continue with their crucial work for disadvantaged children in Russia.
The evening was filled with entertainment. The guests were treated to a performance by the legendary British soprano Camilla Kerslake. Fresh from a private performance with the British royal family, Camilla Kerslake came ready to astonish all, with a vocal hones on tour with the Itaian tenor Andrea Bocelli and Les Miserables. During dinner, the Russian rock band Mumiy Troll rounded off the proceedings, with an energetic display. The evening was a resounding success, in raising funds for a worthy cause, and promoting ever-closer ties between the United Kingdom and its allies and friends in Eastern Europe.
