    Yesterday, Indonesia celebrates seven decades as an independent country. With its internet usership slated to reach a whopping 125 million this year, up from only 42 million three years ago, it’s no surprise that Indonesians have been blowing up the twittersphere, celebrating with #ri70.

    Indonesia was once under the heel of many a colonial power. From Portuguese rule, to its period as part of the Dutch East Indies, Indonesia finally gained its independence in 1945, after five years under Japanese occupation.
